The Rice Hotel (Rice Lofts)

The Rice Hotel opened in 1913 as a luxury downtown hotel financed by the estate of William Marsh Rice and served as one of Houston's premier hotels for much of the 20th century. It hosted social events, visiting dignitaries, and commercial activity tied to downtown Houston. After a period of decline, the building was redeveloped and reopened in 2004 as Rice Lofts, a residential and commercial conversion preserving the historic structure.
