Longland (Holicong, Pennsylvania)

Longland, also known as the Margaret Mead Farmstead, is a historic home located near Holicong in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Built in 1845, this impressive two-and-three-quarter-story stone dwelling showcases Greek Revival architectural features, including an ornate entranceway. The property also includes a three-story stone bank barn from 1844 and other outbuildings. Notably, it was the childhood home of renowned anthropologist Margaret Mead, whose family owned the property from 1912 to 1926. Longland was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
