Gannett Building

The Gannett Building, a historic Classical Revival structure in Rochester, New York, was completed in 1927 to serve as the headquarters for the Gannett Newspapers chain. Notable for its striking relief sculpture by Edmond Amateis, which features the figure of Truth, the building has a rich history, including housing the Rochester Times-Union and later the Democrat and Chronicle. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, it was the world headquarters for Gannett until 1986. Following a series of changes, including the move of the Democrat and Chronicle to a new location in 2016, the building has been renovated into residential lofts and commercial space, now known as The Edmond, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers interested in architectural history and urban development.
