Industrial Exposition Building

The Industrial Exposition Building, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was a prominent structure from 1886 to 1940, briefly holding the title of the tallest building in the city. It was the site of the 1892 Republican National Convention and hosted various exhibitions, attracting nearly 500,000 visitors during its initial exposition. Designed by Isaac Hodgson, the building featured a striking Renaissance exterior with a 240-foot corner tower and had a capacity for up to 15,000 people. Despite its early success, the building's popularity waned, leading to its sale in 1896 and eventual transformation into a performance venue and later a warehouse. The building was demolished in 1940, making way for a Coca-Cola bottling plant, which was itself removed in the 1980s, paving the way for new condominiums on the site.
