Brodsky Synagogue (Odesa)

The Brodsky Synagogue, located in Odesa, Ukraine, is a historic Reform Jewish synagogue completed in 1868. It was the first of its kind in the Russian Empire and the largest in southern Ukraine. Originally built by Jewish immigrants from Brody, the synagogue became a cultural hub, attracting visitors to hear renowned cantors. After being closed by Soviet authorities in 1920 and repurposed for government use, it was returned to the Jewish community in 2016 for restoration. The synagogue is set to serve as an Orthodox congregation and a Jewish history museum, reflecting its rich heritage and significance in the Jewish community of Odesa.
