Hotel San Carlos

Hotel San Carlos opened in 1928 as a Spanish Colonial Revival–style hotel on downtown Phoenix's Central Avenue and has operated continuously as a downtown hotel. The building is notable locally for its historic architecture and for ghost stories and folklore associated with its upper floors; those hauntings are part of local legend rather than documented historical fact. The hotel has long been a visible element of Phoenix's early 20th-century urban fabric.
