42 Lomasney Way

42 Lomasney Way is a historic tenement brownstone in Boston's West End, built in the 1870s and known as The Last Tenement due to its survival during the neighborhood's redevelopment. Originally part of a row of similar buildings, it housed diverse immigrant families and witnessed significant events, including fires and the construction of the Causeway Street Elevated. Despite plans to demolish it in the 1950s, the building remained standing, partly due to community protests. Today, it stands as a unique relic of Boston's past, valued at approximately $1.6 million.
