Cobe Estate

The Cobe Estate, also known as Hillside Farm, is a stunning historic mansion located in Northport, Maine, overlooking the picturesque Penobscot Bay. Built between 1912 and 1914 for Chicago lawyer Ira M. Cobe, this Colonial Revival house is one of the largest of its kind in the state and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The estate features a lavish interior adorned with marble and intricate woodwork, alongside a unique music room decorated with musical motifs. Designed by prominent architect Benjamin H. Marshall, the estate's grounds were crafted by landscape architect Warren H. Manning. Visitors may also recognize the estate as the exterior of the Crane Mansion from the soap opera Passions, making it a notable site for both history enthusiasts and pop culture fans.
