White Stag / 'Portland Oregon' sign

The neon sign reading 'Portland Oregon' with a leaping stag sits atop the White Stag Building and is a long-standing visual landmark on the north waterfront. The sign traces its origins to advertising installed on the building in the 1940s and has displayed different messages over the decades, including 'White Stag' and 'Made in Oregon.' Its current 'Portland Oregon' lettering was installed in 2010 and is widely recognized as an emblem of the Old Town/Skidmore neighborhood.
