Old Tao Nan School

The Old Tao Nan School is a historic building in Singapore, originally established in 1906 to provide modern education for the Hokkien community. It has transitioned from a school to a national monument, now housing the Peranakan Museum, which showcases the rich culture and traditions of the Peranakan people. The building features eclectic classical architecture with elements of the French Renaissance, including Corinthian pilasters and a central atrium. Visitors can explore ten galleries that highlight Peranakan life, including unique wedding customs and the significant role of Nyonyas.
