Continental Building

The Continental Building, located in the Historic Core of Los Angeles, is a 13-story residential high-rise that stands at 151 feet tall. Completed in 1903, it was the first high-rise in the city and held the title of the tallest commercial building for over fifty years. This architectural landmark is part of the Spring Street Financial District, which is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally named after John Hyde Braly, the building's construction led to a city-wide height restriction that lasted until the 1950s. The Continental Building also features in popular culture, notably in the 2009 film (500) Days of Summer, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers.
