Hill Mansion

Hill Mansion is a historic house located in Culpeper, Virginia, built between 1857 and 1858 in the Italianate style. This two-story brick dwelling features a distinctive one-story porch with Tuscan order piers and a bracketed cornice. Notably, it was the residence of Edward Baptist Hill and hosted his brother, General A. P. Hill, during the American Civil War. The mansion served as a Confederate hospital and later as headquarters for Union officers. Recognized for its historical significance, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and is part of the South East Street Historic District, making it an intriguing site for both tourists and researchers interested in Civil War history and architecture.
