Building at Rear, 537 West 200 South

The Building at Rear, 537 West 200 South is a historic two-story brick structure in Salt Lake City's ethnic Greek neighborhood, built around 1910. It is one of the few remaining buildings in the area that has preserved its historical character and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Originally constructed for Greek immigrant Nicholas D. Stathakos, the building has served various purposes, including a candy store and possibly a hotel or boarding house. Notable occupants included George S. Fundas, who ran a candy store, and Peter Crison and Andrew Dokos, who operated the Grecian Bakery from 1929 to 1942, making it a significant site for understanding the local Greek immigrant community.
