Polish National Home (Chicopee, Massachusetts)

The Polish National Home, or Dom Polski Narodowy, is a historic social club located in Chicopee, Massachusetts, built in 1914 to serve the burgeoning Polish immigrant community. This community center offered essential services such as English lessons and citizenship classes, and provided transient housing for newcomers. In 1924, a second building was added, featuring recreational facilities like a bowling alley and billiards hall. The main building showcases impressive architecture with a blend of brick, limestone, and stucco, and has been recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 1980. Today, it houses residential units above retail spaces, continuing its legacy as a hub for the Polish-American community.
