Cumberland House, York

Cumberland House is a historic Grade I listed building located in the heart of York, England, overlooking the picturesque River Ouse. Built around 1710 by industrialist William Cornwell, who later served as Lord Mayor of York, the house gained its name in the 1740s after the Duke of Cumberland reportedly stayed there following his victory at the Battle of Culloden.
