Lind Houses

The Lind Houses are a remarkable collection of seven nearly identical historic homes located on Pleasant Street in South Ryegate, Vermont. Constructed around 1905, these well-preserved examples of worker housing were built by George E. Lind to accommodate immigrant workers in the local granite industry. Notable for their distinctive architectural features, including gabled roofs and Victorian porches, the houses reflect the era's commitment to improving living conditions for laborers. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, the Lind Houses offer a glimpse into the region's industrial past and the community's heritage.
