The Athenaeum (Das Deutsche Haus)

The Athenaeum, originally known as Das Deutsche Haus, was built in 1893 and designed by the firm Vonnegut & Bohn in a German Renaissance Revival style. It was founded as a German-American social and cultural center and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building continues to host cultural events, performances, and community activities in downtown Indianapolis.
