Murals and mosaics in the Boston Public Library McKim Building

The McKim Building of the Boston Public Library in Copley Square contains a major decorative program from the 1890s that includes murals and mosaics by artists such as John Singer Sargent and Edwin Austin Abbey. Abbey painted a large mural cycle commonly referred to as The Quest of the Holy Grail, and Sargent contributed large-scale painted and mosaic work as part of the building's interior decoration.
