Mechanicus Kretz' House

Mechanicus Kretz' House, located at Store Kongensgade 67 in central Copenhagen, is a historic building complex that showcases a blend of architectural styles from the 1930s and earlier periods. Originally listed in the 1689 cadastre, the property evolved over centuries, with significant contributions from mechanician Peter Johannes Kretz, who constructed the current building between 1836 and 1838. The structure features four storeys and a cellar, reflecting the transition from Neoclassical to Late Classical architecture. Today, it houses residential apartments and a law firm, while its historical significance is preserved as a protected building by the Danish Heritage Agency since 1973, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
