Big Tex - State Fair of Texas icon

Big Tex is a 55-foot cowboy figure that has served as the symbol and greeter of the State Fair of Texas at Fair Park since the 1950s. The original structure was destroyed by fire on October 19, 2012 and a new, updated Big Tex was unveiled in time for the 2013 fair. Big Tex appears annually during the State Fair and is closely associated with Fair Park's identity and the annual event.
