The Orange Show (Orange Show Center for Visionary Art)

The Orange Show is a folk-art environment created by Jefferson 'Jeff' McKissack beginning in 1956, constructed from found objects and building materials as a personal tribute to the orange. The site later became the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, a nonprofit that preserves the monument and promotes outsider and visionary art. The hand-built, maze-like structure and decorative exterior are recognized as a notable example of Houston folk art. The organization operates the site for tours, exhibitions, and community arts programs.
