Test Building

The Test Building, also known as the Circle Motor Inn, is a historic nine-story commercial structure located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Built in 1925, this Neoclassical Revival style building features a reinforced concrete design with Indiana limestone facades and a distinctive three-story brick penthouse. Originally intended as a parking garage with ground-level retail, it faced public opposition due to concerns about pedestrian safety. Today, it stands as a significant part of the Washington Street-Monument Circle Historic District and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, making it a noteworthy site for both tourists and researchers interested in early 20th-century architecture and urban development.
