Edmund and Mary Ann Walworth Booth House

The Edmund and Mary Ann Walworth Booth House, located in Anamosa, Iowa, is a historic Italianate brick home built in 1870. It is significant for its association with Edmund Booth, an early educator for the deaf, and his wife Mary Ann, who was also deaf. The couple, both of whom lost their hearing due to meningitis in childhood, played pivotal roles in the establishment of the Iowa School for the Deaf and the Iowa Association of the Deaf.
