Barncastle

Barncastle, also known as Kline Cottage, is a historic house located in Blue Hill, Maine, that has been transformed into an inn and restaurant. Built in 1884 by architect George Asa Clough for Effie Hinckley Ober, it is one of the earliest and largest summer cottages in the area. The house features unique architectural elements, including a central staircase with an interior window and a modest turret. Recognized for its historical significance, Barncastle was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it a notable destination for tourists and researchers interested in Maine's architectural heritage.
