Trevanion

Trevanion is a historic home located in Uniontown, Carroll County, Maryland, recognized for its architectural significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977. Originally built in 1817, the house underwent a transformation in 1855 to adopt the popular 'villa style', blending Italianate and Gothic elements, highlighted by its distinctive brick tower. A 3+1⁄2-story wing was added in 1857, enhancing its grandeur. The name 'Trevanion' means 'the meeting of streams' in Welsh, and the property has a rich history, previously known as 'Brick Mills' and associated with the family of slave trader George Kephart.
