San José Japantown (Japanese American Museum of San Jose)

San José's Japantown is one of only three historic Japantown districts remaining in the United States; the others are in San Francisco and Los Angeles (Little Tokyo). The Japanese American Museum of San Jose documents local Japanese American history, including prewar immigration, wartime incarceration during World War II, and postwar community life. The museum hosts rotating exhibits, educational programs, and community events tied to the neighborhood's cultural heritage.
