Bootham Lodge

Bootham Lodge is a Grade II listed building located just north of York's city center, constructed between 1840 and 1845 for local solicitor Thomas Walker. Originally a private residence, it has served various civic functions, including as the headquarters for local councils and now as York's register office. The building features a Victorian villa style with distinctive architectural elements, including a Tuscan porch and original iron railings by local foundry John Walker.
