South Street Seaport / Pier 17 (South Street Seaport Historic District)

The South Street Seaport Historic District preserves early 19th-century mercantile buildings around Fulton and South Streets that were central to New York's maritime commerce. Pier 17, at 89 South Street, occupies a prominent site within the seaport and has been the focus of recent redevelopment while the district remains listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The historic Fulton Fish Market operated in the seaport area for centuries before relocating in 2005.
