Boston Common

Boston Common was established in 1634 as a public common and is widely cited as the oldest city park in the United States. The park occupies central Beacon Hill/Downtown land and connects directly to the Boston Public Garden via the Commonwealth Avenue Mall. It has long served neighborhood and citywide functions including public gatherings, protests, and seasonal recreational features such as the Frog Pond.
