Mission Dolores historic cemetery (burials from 18th–19th centuries)

Mission San Francisco de Asís (Mission Dolores) maintains a historic graveyard with burials dating to the mission era beginning in 1776, and it contains the remains of many early Spanish, Mexican, and Californio residents. Headstones, crypts, and documented interments remain on the church grounds, making it one of San Francisco's oldest extant burial sites. Archaeological and preservation work at the mission has documented historical human remains and burial locations on the property.
