Naushon Company Plant

The Naushon Company Plant, located in Cumberland, Rhode Island, is a historic textile mill complex established between 1902 and 1904. This site showcases the evolution of textile manufacturing until the 1950s and features five interconnected buildings, including a notable two-story brick structure with original segmented-arch windows and a unique sawtooth roof. The plant was initially part of a company founded by Malcolm Chace and produced various fabrics, including gingham and cotton-silk blends. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and has since been repurposed for light industrial use, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers exploring industrial history.
