Lovamahapaya

Lovamahapaya, also known as the Brazen Palace, is a historic temple located in the ancient city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, between the Ruwanweliseya and Sri Mahabodiya. This remarkable structure, originally built by King Dutugemunu, featured nine stories and was adorned with bronze tiles, corals, and precious stones. It served as a significant religious site with facilities for the Sangha and was the tallest building in Sri Lanka for over a millennium. Although the original structure was destroyed, a smaller version now serves as the Uposatha house of the Maha Vihara, making it a fascinating destination for tourists and researchers interested in Sri Lanka's rich cultural heritage.
