Amos Deason Home

The Amos Deason Home, built around 1845 in Ellisville, Mississippi, is the oldest house in Jones County and showcases unique architectural features, including a hexagon-shaped vestibule and a stone-like exterior created using a technique reminiscent of George Washington's Mount Vernon. Constructed from hand-hewn timbers and featuring a separate kitchen, the home reflects the craftsmanship of its time. It gained notoriety as a haunted site following the assassination of Major Amos McLemore within its walls.
