Ivan Zvorykin House

The Ivan Zvorykin House, located at the intersection of Pushkinskaya Street and Semashko Lane in Rostov-on-Don, is a stunning example of Art Nouveau architecture with gothic elements, designed by architect Vasily Popov and completed in 1914. This historic building served as the office and residence of the city's mayor, major-general Ivan Nikolayevich Zvorykin, during the Russian Empire. After the 1917 Revolution, it was nationalized and housed various offices and apartments, including the residence of Soviet playwright Vladimir Kirshon from 1923 to 1926. The house features intricate facades with decorative elements, a hexagonal bay window, and a turret, making it a significant cultural heritage site. Today, it has been restored and continues to be a notable landmark in the city, reflecting its rich history and architectural beauty.
