Parker Center

Parker Center, once the headquarters of the Los Angeles Police Department from 1955 to 2009, is a notable landmark in Downtown Los Angeles. Known as 'The Glass House', it was named after LAPD chief William H. Parker and featured modern architectural designs, including a unique jail area with tempered glass and innovative police facilities. The building was home to significant artworks and played a role during the 1992 Los Angeles riots. After its closure, efforts to preserve it were unsuccessful, leading to its demolition in 2019. The site reflects the evolution of urban development and public safety in Los Angeles.
