Custom House Tower

The Custom House Tower, completed in 1915 as an addition to the 1849 Custom House, rose to become Boston's tallest building and a prominent waterfront landmark. The 496-foot tower housed federal customs offices and later was converted into a hotel/time-share with an observation area. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and marks the historic commercial port area.
