Temple of Dendur (The Metropolitan Museum of Art)

The Temple of Dendur is an ancient Egyptian temple dating to 15 BCE that was gifted to the United States by Egypt in 1965 and installed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Sackler Wing. The temple was reassembled in a climate-controlled atrium with a reflecting pool and glass wall to evoke its original Nile-adjacent setting. It has been a permanent, site-specific installation and is displayed with interpretive information about its provenance and conservation.
