The Capt. Mark Stoddard Farmstead, located in Gales Ferry, Connecticut, is a historic Cape-style farmhouse built around 1770. Nestled on 130 acres of picturesque rural land, this well-preserved property features a main farmhouse, two barns, and an old privy, all reflecting the architectural style of the 18th century. The farmhouse showcases original interior finishes and a central chimney layout. Mark Stoddard, a descendant of early settlers and a Revolutionary War veteran, established the farmstead, which remained in the Stoddard family until 1919. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, making it a significant destination for history enthusiasts and tourists alike.
