Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture

The Harvey B. Gantt Center, named for Charlotte's first African-American mayor and architect, Harvey Gantt, is dedicated to African-American visual and performing arts. The center opened its current Uptown facility in 2009 and hosts rotating exhibitions, performances, and community programs. It is a focal point for interpretation and celebration of African-American culture in Charlotte.
