Pierce Springhouse and Barn

The Pierce Springhouse and Barn, also known as the Art Barn, is a historic site located in Rock Creek Park, Washington, D.C. Built in 1801, the springhouse is situated in the median of Tilden Street, while the barn was constructed by Isaac Pierce as part of his farm complex. In 1971, the barn transitioned into an art gallery, showcasing local artists. Interestingly, it was also the site of a spy tour led by David Major, who claimed that the barn's pigeon coop was used for espionage activities against nearby embassies. This unique blend of history and art makes it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike.
