Garden of Allah Hotel

The Garden of Allah Hotel, located at 8152 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, California, was a renowned hotel that opened in 1927 after actress Alla Nazimova transformed a private estate into a residential hotel. Known for its charming, village-like atmosphere, it attracted numerous celebrities and literary figures, including F. Scott Fitzgerald and Greta Garbo, who enjoyed its discreet environment away from the public eye. The hotel operated for over three decades before being demolished in 1959 to make way for a bank. Today, the site is part of a mixed-use development designed by Frank Gehry, but the legacy of the Garden of Allah lives on as a symbol of Hollywood's Golden Age.
