Pura Dasar Buana Gelgel

Pura Dasar Buana Gelgel is a significant Balinese Hindu temple located in Gelgel, Bali, approximately 3 kilometers from Semarapura. Established to honor Mpu Ghana, a revered Brahmin teacher from the Majapahit Kingdom, the temple features a rich history dating back to the 10th century. The temple complex is divided into three main areas: the outer sanctum, middle sanctum, and inner sanctum, each with unique structures and shrines, including multi-tiered meru towers dedicated to various deities. The temple hosts important rituals, including the Pemacekan Agung festival, celebrated biannually, making it a vibrant site for both spiritual practice and cultural heritage in Bali.
