Old Wan Chai Post Office

The Old Wan Chai Post Office, located at No. 221 Queen's Road East in Hong Kong, is the oldest surviving post office building in the city, constructed between 1912 and 1913 and opened in 1915. This L-shaped structure features a simple pitched roof and attractive gable ends. After serving the community for 77 years, it ceased operations in 1992 and was later transformed into an Environmental Resource Centre in 1993. As of 2024, it will be repurposed as the ‘kNOw Carbon House’ to promote carbon neutrality. Declared a monument in 1990, it stands as the only designated monument in the Wan Chai area, making it a significant historical site for both tourists and researchers.
