Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort - site of the city's first non-indigenous settlement

The Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort, established in 1855 by Mormon settlers, is the site of the first permanent non-native settlement in the Las Vegas Valley. The remaining adobe walls and foundations are preserved as Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park, which interprets early settlement history and the fort's role in regional development.
