Prometheus (Paul Manship)

Prometheus is a gilded bronze sculpture by Paul Manship installed above the Lower Plaza at Rockefeller Center in 1934. The figure depicts the Titan Prometheus carrying a flame and serves as the centerpiece above the seasonal ice rink and fountain. It is one of Rockefeller Center’s most photographed artworks and a focal point for visitors to the complex.
