Walter K. Foster House

The Walter K. Foster House, located at 57 Central Street in Stoneham, Massachusetts, is a historic Italianate residence built around 1870. It is one of only three remaining side hall entry houses of its kind in the area, featuring distinctive architectural elements such as paneled pilasters and ornate decorative brackets. The house is notable for its elaborately decorated doorway, which is topped by a heavy hood. Once owned by inventor Walter Kittredge Foster, who operated a pencil sharpener factory, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and is part of the Central Square Historic District established in 1990, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
