Active oil wells on the state capitol grounds

The Oklahoma State Capitol grounds contain active oil and gas wells and visible pumpjacks. Mineral rights under portions of the capitol grounds have been leased and produced, and oil operations have periodically operated on-site since the mid-20th century. This makes the capitol one of the few U.S. state capitols with producing oil wells on its grounds.
