Alchemist's House

The Alchemist's House, located at Nyhavn 59 in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a historic building with roots dating back to 1689 when it was constructed for coppersmith and alchemist Henrik Ehm. Over the centuries, it has served various purposes, including a hostel and hotel, hosting notable guests like Norwegian writer Knut Hamsun and Russian nobility fleeing the revolution. Architecturally, the house features a blend of styles with a distinctive balcony and a Salvator Mundi sculpture. Today, while much of the building is used for offices, the ground floor houses the popular Restaurant Streckers, making it a unique spot for visitors to experience history and cuisine in the heart of Copenhagen.
