Rodin Museum

The Rodin Museum on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway opened in 1929 after collector Jules Mastbaum donated his large collection of Auguste Rodin sculptures to the city. The museum's holdings include multiple casts of Rodin's major works, notably The Thinker and The Gates of Hell, making it one of the largest collections of Rodin outside France. Its building and surrounding sculpture garden were designed to showcase the collection in a formal, museum setting. The site remains a key destination for sculpture and art history in Philadelphia.
