Rothko Chapel

Rothko Chapel is an interfaith, non-denominational chapel founded by John and Dominique de Menil and completed in 1971. It houses 14 large paintings by Mark Rothko and functions as a space for contemplative practice, ecumenical services, and public programming. The chapel attracts visitors and spiritual pilgrims from around the world and is a noted site for quiet reflection in Houston's Museum District.
